Following the Manx Mountain Marathon and Half Manx Mountain Marathon, Cronk ny Arrey Laa will be the next Manx Fell Runners race scheduled in the Callin Wild league . The Cronk ny Arrey Laa race will take place on Sunday 11th May at 10am. This is a new medium race route, covering part of the Bradda Championship route. At this time of year, race routes must be primarily on footpaths to avoid the disturbance of ground nesting birds. To download the CNAL race map and route description click here.
The road past Glen Helen is scheduled to be closed for an extended period from mid March. Unfortunately we have no guarantee that the road and car park will be fully open in time for the Slieau Ruy race. A decision has been made to change the race location now to ensure access and enable recceing of the race route. The race will take place from the Bungalow and visit Clagh Ouyr and Slieau Lhean. It will be called the Victory Cafe race in recognition of the support MFR have received. A short course/junior race will take place in the same area, final route to be decided.

Well done to all runners who managed to find their way through the fog to the finish line. Provisional results for the full race are here and for the short race are here.
Sunday 1st September sees our next event counting towards the Callin Wild League and traversing the classic ( and obscurely named? ) Creg ny Baa course.
This race is being run in memory of Kate Burge who was tragically involved in a road accident whilst riding her pushbike 10 years ago. Following Kate’s move to the Island she quickly got involved in MFR events with some fantastic results and is greatly missed by all in the club who knew her. All proceeds from this race will be donated to Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team who operate in an area regularly frequented and loved by Kate. Wasdale is also the lifelong home of fell running legend and Manx Mountain Marathon winner Joss Naylor who sadly passed away recently and who MFR would also like to also remember in a fitting manner. Please feel free to make a donation at registration if you would like to.
Entries are open at: https://www.sientries.co.uk/event.php?elid=Y&event_id=13986 and updated route information and map can be found at: https://manxfellrunners.org/creg-ny-baa . There will also be a fully flagged junior/short course counter involving a 4.8 km out and back route ascending Mullagh Ouyr and descending to Windy Corner. Entries can be made on the day at an additional rate of £10 and £2 for juniors but online entry really helps ease the organisation of our races.
Registration will be open at the Victory Cafe from 09.00 and the Creg race will start at 09.45 near the cafe . The short course will start beyond the footbridge and both races will finish at this location.
Full safety kit is required comprising hood attached waterproof (with taped seams) jacket and trousers, hat, gloves, map of the course, whistle and emergency food. Junior/ short course runners do not require a map or emergency food and the requirement may be relaxed on the day but please make sure you bring this kit with you. Safety kit will be checked at registration.
Vehicle parking is available at the Bungalow and on the Tholt y Will Road. Please do not park vehicles at the Victory Cafe or on the approach road which is required for customers.
