North Barrule Fell Race

The Sean Craig sponsored North Barrule Fell Race will take place on Friday 9th August, starting at 7.00pm. It is round 9 of the 2013 Rentokil Manx Fell League. Start and finish is at Ballure Reservoir and the course will cover a very tough 6km out and back course. Registration is from 6.15pm until 6.45pm at the start area.

All competitors will be required to carry full safety equipment.

There is little parking space in the start and finish area and therefore competitors are asked to use the public car park situated on the Ramsey side of the Gooseneck on the TT course.

Snowdon International Race

The Snowdon International race was ran in very hot conditions on Saturday (20th July) with the Isle of Man team recording some impressive results. Lloyd Taggart managed a fantastic 5th overall in 1:11:37 with Ben Corkill 37th in 1:23:56 on his race debut and Peter Bradley coming home in 1:29:43 (61st position).

Jackie Lee, representing Wales, ran a great race to finish 3rd fastest lady and gained 35 places on her flying descent from the 1,085m summit.

James Coulson Laxey Race - results available now

Results for 2013 are now in the results section, please check for any errors.
Round 8 of the 2013 Rentokil sponsored Manx Fell League takes place on Saturday 6th July. The James Coulson Laxey race will be sponsored by Ken Watterson and Focus Advisary Services and will be held over a testing 13km course in the Glen Roy area.
There will be an early start at 1.30pm for any runner expecting to take more than 2 hours. Registration is from 1.00pm. The main race starts at 2.00pm with registration from 1.30pm. Start and finish will be at Glen Roy Farm.
As the race is classified as a medium A category event full safety gear will be mandatory for all competitors and will be inspected at registration.
Minimum age is 18 years on the day of the race.
Please do not recce the Glen Roy or Ballacowin Farm sections as they are on private land. These sections will be flagged on race day.

Colden Killer Mile

There will be a new race included in the 2013 No Rest for the Wicked series. 

REMINDER: Entries are being taken in advance by emailing your details to killer-km@manx.net 

To be held on Wednesday 14th August the Colden Killer Mile will be held on the northern side of Colden Plantation. The course will be 95% uphill, there is a short slightly down hill section mid way, and will be on the main plantation fire track. The terrain allows for road or trail shoes with the ascent varying from steep to gradual.

Runners will set off individually at 30 second intervals, with positions decided by their finishing time at the top.

The organisers, Manx Fell Runners, will be encouraging as many competitors as possible to pre enter by e-mailing killer-km@manx.net by Saturday 10th August. 

An entry list giving each individuals starting time will then be available on manxfellrunners.orgwww.sportsdesk.im/NRFTW  and the Manx Fell Runners page on facebook by Monday 12th August. Starting times will be decided by lottery. Entries will also be taken on the day but runners will have to slot in on whatever starting times are still available. Maximum entry is 120 competitors. Entry fee, which will be £3.00, payable at registration on race day.  No prizes will be awarded but all entry fees will be donated to a local charity.

Minimum age for entry is 12 years on day of race. 

The race will be run under FRA rules but due to it being classified as a B category event no safety gear will be required.

Directions to get to the Colden Killer Mile course are as follows:

From the Quarter Bridge on the TT Course travel along the A1 towards Peel then right at the first roundabout at Braddan Bridge. Straight on at the next 3 roundabouts on to the A23 Braddan Road. Proceed for about a mile then right on to the B22 West Baldwin Road at Mount Rule. Follow the B22 until your reach Injebreck Reservoir which will be on your right, about 2.5miles. Car park is on the left opposite the reservoir. Cars can also be parked along side the reservoir wall. Please park carefully. Parking is limited so it would be helpful if as many as possible could car share.

Bradda Fell Race

The Up and Running sponsored Arthur Jones Bradda Fell Race will take place on Sunday 16th June starting and finishing at Bradda Glen car park. Start time for the 7th counter in the 2013 Rentokil Manx Fell League is 10.00am. There will be an earlier start at 9.15am for any runner who expects to finish in over 3hr. 30mins. Registration is from 8.30am until 9.00am for the early start and 9.15am until 9.45am for the main start. Entry forms available here

Race distance is 24km with 1250m of ascent.

Full safety equipment is mandatory and will be checked at registration.

Minimum age for entry is 18 years on race day.

Competitors are asked to park outside the Bradda Glen if possible to ensure the café customers have ample parking space.

Marshals are still required for the race. Details are on the marshals page.

Carraghan Fell Race

The shortest race in the Rentokil Manx Fell League takes place on Tuesday 14th May. The Buchanan and Pitts sponsored Carraghan Race is held on a 4km out and back course that has a tough 300mtrs of ascent on the outward leg.

Registration is from 6.00pm at the car park opposite the Injebreck Reservoir. Please do not park anywhere near the start and finish area. Parking could be a problem so it would be advisable to car share if possible. 

A decision as to what safety gear will need to be carried will be decided at registration depending on weather. Minimum age is 14 years on race day.

Due to access problems the route through the plantation will have to be changed. 

The new route will be clearly marked on race day but there will be a recce over the new course on Wednesday 8th May at 6.00pm. Meet at the car park opposite the Injebreck Reservoir.
