It may be necessary to copy the details below onto a 1:25000 map if you are unfamiliar with the route, or deviations described.
1st deviation: After approx 0.5km from start take a left hand footpath down to the beach at Perwick.
At the far end of the beach take the footpath back up towards Fistard, doing a right then left dog leg at the top of the path leading back onto the Fistard Road/Raad Ny Foillan towards The Chasms.
2nd deviation (change to 2012 Pier to Pier route): Just after the turning circle at the end of the lane from Fistard, turn right through a gate, on the footpath up the hill.
Follow the path over the Memorial stile, and after the next gate turn right up the hill following the flags, and touch (do not cross) the stile (CP1) to Chasms car park.
From CP1 head directly down on path alongside wall, climbing the next stile on right, back onto Raad Ny Foillan footpath.
Beware of cliff edges between CP1 and CP2.
CP2 is at The Sound. Do not run through the car park, please keep to the footpath.
After descending to road level in Port Erin, it is 300m to finish, down the No Entry road, and cross the road at the bottom, continue in the Port Erin direction to FINISH at Raglan Pier. Beware of traffic.
After a refreshing pint in The Bay (make sure you have carried enough spare clothes!) it is a 3km jog back along St Marys Road/Truggan Road to the start.
ROUTE MAP
Ellan Vannin Postponed date tbc. Pier to Pier instead
/The Committee of Manx Fell Runners have decided that due to the difficult conditions on the Ellan Vannin course the race will not go ahead next Sunday. All the roads around the higher parts of the course are still closed and with the weather expected to stay cold for the next week there is a big chance that there will be no access for our marshals to take their positions.
We are also concerned about the lack of chances to recce the difficult course, especially the new section, and also the dangers of the huge snow drifts that are lying on the routes gulleys.
It is not possible to organise any LONG fell league race this weekend due to access issues with roads closed, and snow drifts blocking some paths.
Bradda will be held on its previously published date.
Ellan Vannin will hopefully be re-scheduled.
Instead MFR are organising a non league race: Graham Davies proposed 2013 Pier to Pier route, following the Raad Ny Foillan coastal footpath From Port St Mary to Port Erin, with some partly flagged deviations.
Creg ny Baa 2013
/Vet 60 Winner Rob Webb
Another good win by Lloyd Taggart at the Creg yesterday from Tom Cringle and Simon Skillicorn. Ladies win went to Jackie Lee with a excellent 4th place overall with Judith Quane 2nd and Rosie Craine 3rd.
John Norrey took the vet 50 win with an excellent run for Robb Webb, back from injury, top vet 60 and taking the course record in the process.
Thanks to all the marshals and timekeepers braving the tough conditions.

Easter Festival - Cash Awards for Leading Local Teams
/Following on from the new sponsorship from Celton Manx, the Festival organising team is keen to encourage as many local athletes as possible to take part, in addition to the off-island runners. As a new innovation this year, we are introducing cash prizes for the leading local club teams over the weekend.
There will be awards of £100 for both the leading men’s and the leading women's teams. Teams must remain unchanged throughout the weekend to qualify. These prizes are in addition to the usual prize fund for the Festival of at least £4,000. We are hoping that all the Isle of Man clubs will take up the challenge and make this a competitive event with some friendly local rivalry to add a little spice to the weekend. If the leading athletes from each club take part, there should be some really great competition in both the men’s and women’s categories as well as plenty of pride at stake! Information on the Easter Festival is at www.easterfestival.info and we also have a Facebook group entitled Isle of Man Easter Festival of Running 2013 which is updated regularly.
Loads of Clag at Baldwin Valleys
/Heading into the Gloom (ML)
Conditions were tough today for the 2013 Aston International sponsored Baldwin Valleys fell race with wind rain and mist all playing a part. Still great to see 70 runners taking on the challenge.
The race was won by Lloyd Taggart from Tom Cringle and Peter Bradley with Ian Gale 4th and a good race from Mark Murphy wrapping up the top 5. Jackie Lee took the ladies win from Judith Quane and Julie Cretney.
